OpenAI is adding new visual abilities to its Advanced Voice Mode

During the “12 Days of OpenAI,” the Artificial Intelligence startup unveiled its powerful new products every day, including Sora and Canvas. On the sixth day, OpenAI introduced fresh innovative features to ChatGPT using Advanced Voice Mode.

Chief Product Officer Kevin Weil, alongside voice and vision experts Jackie Shannon, Michelle Qin, and Rowan Zellers represent OpenAI’s new AI enhancements. In the demo, they showcased that ChatGPT can see you in real-time, similar to humans having video calling with each other.

In addition, you can talk to the Advanced Voice Mode using video or voice-feature options. Instead of sending images and screenshots to ChatGPT and talking about queries, you can directly show ChatGPT the real things you see. For detailed insights and information, you can visit the YouTube video of Open AI’s day 6.

ChatGPT can recognize objects and persons seen through the phone camera, and respond with the Advanced Voice Mode. Besides, the new version of this model has better memory. It is capable of remembering the names of persons and things. It is powered by OpenAI’s natively multimodal 4o model, which means it can analyze audio input and interact in a natural conversational way.

“Most ChatGPT Plus and Pro users and all Team users will be able to access the video and screen sharing feature through the ChatGPT mobile app in the coming days,” OpenAI said.

Furthermore, OpenAI adds a Santa voice throughout December, having a British accent. Along with the video, it also has a screen-sharing option, so you can show other apps’ problems to it. You can also ask ChatGPT for advice related to apps, and it can recognize it.
