Global Wealth Rankings: Waltons, Ambanis Among Top 10 Families

The Walmart Waltons have once again ascended to the pinnacle of wealth and now, it is recognized as the richest family in the world with an astonishing fortune of $432.4 billion. This wealth surpassed even Elon Musk’s individual net worth and eclipses the combined fortunes of various Middle Eastern royal families. 

In the eighth spot, the Ambani family from India boasts a wealth of 499.6 billion, while the Mistrys of Shapoorji Pallonji have acquired the 23rd position with $41.4 billion. Ambanis have made their mark in the top 10 this year mainly because of the rapid growth of Reliance Industries. 

The resurrection of Waltons to the top of the World’s Richest Families 2024 list by Bloomberg is fueled by a staggering 80 percent gain in the shares of Walmart this year, as of December 10. 

According to an estimate from Bloomberg, this astounding gain has added around $172.7 billion to their overall wealth. It has grown to an extraordinary $473.2 million per day or $328,577 every minute. 

Top Five Families on the World’s Richest Families 2024 List 

1. The Waltons of Walmart (US) – Valued at $432.4 billion because of the 46% stake in the retail giant. 
2. The AI Nahyan Family (UAE) – It is the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates with a wealth of $323.9 billion accumulated over three generations and has secured the second position. 
3. The AI Thani Family (Qatar) – Qatar’s royal family is in third place on the list, it has an evaluation of $172.9 billion. 
4. The Hermes Family (France) – The fourth-richest family in the world, the Hermes Family of France owns the well-known French luxury brand, Hermes and has a net worth of $170.6 billion. 
5. The Koch Family (US) – With three generations of wealth and a $148.5 billion net worth, the Koch family is a well-known American family with a long history in the oil business.
